As Stephanie and I are settling in to creating new content for the Orillia Museum of Art & History, we had the opportunity to document the museum's most recent exhibit opening "Creating Futures" presented by the Mariposa Grandmothers of the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign for the Stephen Lewis Foundation.
I had the opportunity to sit down and interview guest Curator and the Co-Chair of the Mariposa Grandmothers, Kathy Duncan. What planned out as a 5 minute interivew, turned into a 15 minute chat about the exhibit, the activist work the Campaign does and where art is helping make a difference. It was a very insightful conversaion and I managed to edit the audio down to about 6 minutes. I then accompanied it with images I had taken at the opening reception as well as material from the Stephen Lewis Foundation.
It was a great excerise in creating something in depth and informational on limited resources.
For our first endavour, I'm quite happy with how this podcast turned out in the end. It is a great stepping stone for creating content like this in the future with other exhibits at OMAH.
