"Look up, waaaaaay up"
Remember that clock tower post from a few weeks back? Guess who ended back up there again with all her gear. If you remember, I recently ventured up to the top of the Clock Tower at the Sir Sam Steele Memorial Building for a photoshoot.
I noticed how beautiful the space was and how inaccessible it is to the public. As fate has it, the Orillia Museum of Art & History is celebrating this clock tower's 100th birthday this month. We thought it might be high time for people to have an inside look, and since we cannot entrust the public on one hundred year old wooden, rickety, ladders, I had the honour of doing it instead.
There was more gear that had to be brought up this time than with the photoshoot and so I had an assistant relaying cameras, tripods, and lighting equipment up to me. Though my note for next time: have an assistant who is not afraid of heights.

After all was said and done with filming, I had some strong footage to give viewers an idea of the atmosphere of the clock tower. With such a rich history, and a short period of time to capture viewers with this video, in post-production editing I added graphics with quick 'fun facts' for viewers to see.
The benefit of making this information visual verus aural is that this video is now playing at the museum on a monitor in the lobby and visitors can watch it without missing any parts of the video.
Overall I'm happy with this result, and it was definitely a once - or in my case twice - in a life time opportunity.
